I do not understand the blind community's hatred for Microsoft Teams. Could it be more efficient? Sure. Does it do to many things? Perhapss. But having tried other tools like it, I frankly like it a lot.
@ysotomayor I love Teams actually. I don't get people's hangups with it.
@lerven @ysotomayor So do I, I use teams every day for work and haven't had any problems with it. I think just people need to learn the shorcuts or something.
@ysotomayor My question is how often do you use it, and do you use all its features?
@sapphireangel being that my whole agency is on teams, we all work remote 1 day a week, we constantly are working on collaborative projects, and I train both staff and students on its uses, I think I use a lot of its features. I don't use the office build-in apps, since I prefer to open everything on the desktop clients. Still allows for collaboration, but it works much better with screen readers.
@ysotomayor Yeah I use all the desk top, but I just find it annoying, not intuitive at all. I also sometimes have issues getting options to show that should be visible.
@sapphireangel Oh, we also conduct all staff and student meetings on it, we use chat for group and one-to-one messaging, we have different channels for each major department, and we also host all kinds of training and support materials on it. Yeah, we use it a lot. Plus our agency has a ton of blind employees, including the commissioner.
@sapphireangel And all of that is done without any scripts or addons to make it more efficient. Some individuals in the agency do use the JAWS Scripts for it, and I'm frankly thinking of getting them myself, but they are not needed. Just a nice to have.
