To make us feel like we're better than everyone else when it's pretty clear we're not. #America is unique in that it was colonized fairly recently by several #European countries, who brought in slaves from #Africa.

I suppose I'll be thinking of some standards about where #America should be culturally and maybe politically. Some of the divisions are significant, particularly between #MAGA and reality, but also between or among the generations, and between the capitalists and everyone else.
