Am I incorrect, but isn’t LinkedIn fairly useless as a site for finding new employment? From what I’ve read of it, it has devolved into just another mediocre social network with the full assortment of trolls, spammers and con-men.
It’s been the main channel for legitimate recruiters finding me over the past couple decades, too.
It works best if you don’t engage in the “social media” part and just use it to passively advertise yourself.
dkppunkThat is the best way to use LinkedIn. A buddy of mine does well in his industry and has been recruited multiple times via LinkedIn. I’ve used it to find a couple of jobs over the years and it’s pretty good for that too.
Engaging it as a social media site is where it really turns sour.
