Seems like a good day to remind everyone that Trump’s ex-wife Ivana wasn’t an American citizen until 1988. She gave birth to Don Junior in 1977, Ivanka in 1981, and Eric in 1984. — Let’s cancel their birthright citizenship first.

@Strandjunker Trumps grandfather wasn't an American citizen. How should Donald can be a "real American"!

By the way: Whow is a real American?

I think, most of all they say "I am!" are not!

One side of my family has been in the Americas since the 1600s. That side also has native American blood two generations back. IOW? I can trace back my heritage to before the USA existed, in multiple ways.

I say that to say this: I am in favor of easy immigration and citizenship of people's from anywhere. I reject the unstated racism of the anti-immigration crowd – most of whom would not be citizens if their ancestors had come here under the rules they want.

When I last visited the US in the 90s, I got a tad bored with being shown lovely parabellum houses in the 'South', and mentioned that I had lived in cottages older than his country.

Yeah, in the USA 'old' usually means 'about 200 years at best'. So whenever I'm in Europe I enjoy seeing 'Europe old'.

Some of the refugee's from the Middle East who had settled in Sweden, were visiting historical tourist sites, and were shown a building in Uppsala that was ~1000 years old.

A couple of them had come from the city that was originally called Sumer.
