It’s a growing mess, and we’re the ones left to compost it. There’s too much #techshit, and it ends up making everything stink. Why would anyone want to use the #openweb if it smells that bad?

We’ve seen this before - the #encryptionists and the whole #blockchain mess. And now there’s a big overlap with #bluesky.

@hamishcampbell @_elena @laurenshof Entirely agree.

There are pockets of great connectivity out there but face to face meaningful dialogue (as opposed to interleaving monologues with phone held tight in hand the whole while) but few and far between.

@NicelyManifest @hamishcampbell @_elena

which is exactly posted this original post about the atmosphere conference lol, it is actually incredibly rare and meaningful when the trust and safety people that are building for their own queer and Black communities are posting that this is the best time they have ever had

instead the only thing everyone here wants to talk about is 'bsky bad'. like those meaningful face to face dialogues are in fact happening!

@laurenshof @NicelyManifest @_elena

Your comment is both right and very badly wrong: right that this is a conversation about Bluesky, but wrong because you’re not addressing what we’re actually saying. That’s bad journalism. But it’s also what happens too often, people fixate on the drama and ignore the substance.

@hamishcampbell @NicelyManifest @_elena this entire thread started by a post by me just wanting to share that i had a great time hanging out with so many of my friends at a conference lol, what are you even talking about

@laurenshof @NicelyManifest @_elena

OK lets leave this here, you have made the point.

@laurenshof @hamishcampbell @_elena Do not know what bsky bad means, alas. I am 69, not up to date ...
