anyone knows how to make your own custom cursor in linux mint cinnamon? i have some gif files that i would like to use but no idea how to

Thank you! That's just what I wanted. Searching on "pointer" wasn't getting me anywhere. To me, I think a cursor is a little vertical line blinking in a line of text or at the command line. You can move a cursor with the mouse pointer. I guess it's also what we call the mouse pointer.
