Not to say the loss of our actual allies is minor. On the contrary, it's a complete disaster.

Rather, to point out that the nations of Central and South America, as well as those of the Middle East and Africa, have always understood us, justifiably, as entirely untrustworthy. That part hasn't actually changed.

@GeePawHill I think one thing that is happening I've not seen before is that *Americans* are now becoming unpopular / unwelcome, where are before it was largely the idea of America that was unwelcome, but individually generally tolerated or welcomed.

My (American) wife lived with me in Ireland 2017-2018 and was regularly, loudly, bullied on public streets.

Which is sad really, because although I understand why one might be upset at what’s going on in America, giving into the stereotyping of groups isn’t going to help us out of these problems.
