@Cdespinosa Oh good, only a few miles from my house. Felt like it could have been a much larger earthquake further away.
@gparker @Cdespinosa As I was being jolted awake, I heard a klaxon and words coming from my phone that said "Earthquake! Drop, cover and hold on. Shaking expected." Uh, thanks? I guess our proximity to the epicenter meant that warning wasn't going to be of much use.
@_the_cloud @Cdespinosa yeah, earthquake alerts have narrow margins. Too close and you lose thanks to alert latency and human reaction time. Too far and there isn't any danger anyway.
@Cdespinosa I got the notification on my iPhone a mere few seconds before it hit. Gave me enough time to at least not be as stressed when all my drinks and tv tray started shaking.
