@tommi @mary Interesting. Me and my friends found the suggestions from distrochooser reasonable and helpful. Would you mind telling what you did not like about it?

@carla @mary Maybe I am in a bubble but I would suggest Debian stable to all beginners. The only problem is installation but I can help with that. Then you install flatpak and they are all set.

@tommi @mary sounds reasonable. I have good experiences with mx-linux as I try to avoid systemd, flatpak, snap, etc. I use to help with installation and the setup for their use case because many users feel shy to switch defaults. I give them a kind of crash course and explain the reasons for what we do. usually they are fine with that.
