I've nearly finished doing the cross stitching on my Dimensions "Frederick the Literate" Library Cat counted cross stitch kit, but I've run out of some threads.

I'm always super careful about being very conservative with cross stitch thread use when it comes to kits, and some threads have run out halfway through 😬

Unfortunately the Dimensions Crafts company has been sold off to a liquidator in 2025 as part of the Simplicity Company being made being made bankrupt, and they are no longer giving people more thread if they run out.

I've had to go through my two other Dimensions cross stitch kits that are unopened and steal thread colours from those kits. My plan is to replace the colours I've removed from the kits with DMC thread.

There is a lot of back stitching in this project, which I loathe doing. Hubby has volunteered to do it for me, but I think he underestimates how much is involved, and how most of it is done using gold metallic thread 👀

@craftygardennz I don't mind back stitch at all, but I haven't worked with metallic thread before and could imagine that requiring a bit more care than I might have long patience for....
