Nice to see Gil Scott-Heron and his piece "Whitey on the Moon" get some recognition courtesy of astronaut Victor Glover and today's #Artemis launch.

I love space travel and space science, but Whitey on the Moon is a totally legit POV. My opinion of Victor Glover was already high, but learning this has boosted it into the stratosphere!
Quoting Victor Glover: ""And it ain't about racism. It's about the human condition.""
Kind of wild to see this song highlighted by the lead astronaut...after just posting it. That being said, the song is most definitively about racism and the disfranchisement of Black Americans and the completely lack of help provided to them by the US government for generations, and to this day for that matter.
Current day, It fits in very well to our politics (almost like nothings changed at all...) and encompassing more people into the fold due to growing class divides, but you can't deny the messaging for the 60s.
