"Promoting honeybee hives to save pollinators is roughly the equivalent to building more chicken farms to save bird biodiversity." https://naturalist.bearblog.dev/the-bee-that-everyone-wants-to-save/ (content warning: Comic Sans)
The Bee That Everyone Wants to Save

My neighbour has 50 hives, the road has 30 more. That's 4 million honeybees, and not one of them is the bee that actually needs saving.

Chickens are always eaten by both humans and some other animals but hsve never become extinct yet the predators which are not consumed by anyone are slowly decreasing in numbers. Anything useful and valuable is always protected and preserved at any cost . Is the primary reason for protecting bee hives to have bees for pollinating flowers or to have honey produced by the bees?
