picture of Artemis II with the top out of frame and it's weird seeing two SRBs and basically the external tank with no orbiter attached. like it makes sense to reuse Shuttle tooling but it still looks like something's missing
you know the Shuttle is cool because it hasn't flown in 15 years and they're still making toys of it
(also because it was the big thing when i was a kid and couldn't see the contractor and political bullshit involved in government projects)
...i should make a model Cassini–Huygens
the Moon is cool and all but we've been there, before i die i really wanna see NASA probe Uranus https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uranus_Orbiter_and_Probe

@mym I discovered on a recent call with my dad that he calls all rockets Shuttles. I was very confused. I feel like that’s a pretty strong Dad Endorsement though
@yomimono @mym I only just learned yesterday that Shuttle is a specific series of craft; I thought it was a much more generic term (more or less: anything crewed that isn’t a station). So I’m with your dad on this one.
@yomimono @mym That's such a Midwestern dad sort of thing to do, in my estimation.
@mym not just tooling, even. All but one of the first stage engines are literally reused from shuttles.
