As #KnowledgeFight explains, Alex isn't breaking with Trump yet. He's whining about being in the position he put himself in: supporting Trump when Trump is doing things Alex made a career of opposing. People are calling Alex out on the socials, but Alex is stuck. If he stays with Trump, this continues. If he abandons Trump, he's admitting he (and the God that speaks to him and tells him such prophesy as what time it is in the middle of the night) was wrong to support Trump.

He wants Trump to change course, not leave Trump.
