Roughly 38 minutes to launch window. Still time to tune in. I hope it goes. I hope it succeeds. Space is awesome.
Astronauts are so freakin cool. I could never be that cool.
So far they are go for launch! Squeee.
Countdown resumed! Less than 10 minutes!
FUCK YEAH SPACE!!!!!
As much as I love space stuff, I've only really watched a handful of launches and I'm pretty sure the last manned launch I actually watched was... well... let's just say it didn't go so well.
@bigzaphod my other half couldn't watch this one for the same reason. She's sat through lots of launches with me, but not the crewed ones.
@tehstu yeah I didn't realize how much it might be that I've been actively avoiding watching crewed ones, tbh. Never considered that. There's def trauma from seeing that in school.
@bigzaphod @tehstu Did you see how they intentionally cut away when the boosters separated? Yeeeah.
@gedeonm @bigzaphod oh i didnt even think of that i was just like “damn thats annoying they were showing people instead of the separation, terrible video direction”
@manolo @gedeonm @bigzaphod yeah, I think even a successful separation would probably cause some worry (if only momentary) amongst a certain set of folks
@gedeonm @bigzaphod @tehstu Oooohhhhh… okaaay. I was in high school for Challenger.

@bigzaphod NASASpaceflight.com has been a real giant leap forward for watching launches, because they're just fans with cameras & trucks.

SpaceX's launch cadence has been fun to watch, & sets an expectation of safety when manned; they don't mind blowing up an unmanned rocket if they learn something.

@bigzaphod I saw Challenger with my own Mark 1 eyeballs.
It still stings all these years later. 🥺
@bigzaphod You make cool things, ergo… :)
