motherfucker why is this on the citizenship test

name one single reason

what kind of test autofellatio is this
@whitequark high-quality cryptic crossword mode happening here

@whitequark Extra weirdness points for the typo and omitting the extremely important fact that you can actually take it in Welsh

Then again, the purpose of this test appears to be to create gammon-faced Little Englanders who think Welsh is only something people in Wales speak as soon as an English person walks in

@dpk no they say you can take it in welsh in the key
@whitequark @dpk because Welsh is an official language. Gaelic on the other hand is not.
@whitequark Only if you arrived with William the Conqueror?
@whitequark
I fully agree with arrangements in French 😋 .
@whitequark if you click True, it plays the first few notes of O Canada and displays a maple leaf flag, and then says "what kind of idiot are you?" in both English and French.

@whitequark

It’s a question designed to test whether you believe Wales or France is part of the UK. It is, in fact, a carefully concealed device to detect when zombie Henry VII attempts to take the test.

@david_chisnall @whitequark Well that could probably also work to detect any king or noble from 1066 to the Hundred Year’s War.
@whitequark i feel that it's true as France and England have a long love-hate relationship
@confusomu minus one point

@whitequark ugh, i forgot that the English despise the French, so such a thing wouldn't be possible :/
got too used to the linguistic particularities in Canada and forgot about the UK…

(but in french, there are more and more anglicismes and english has a lot of elements from french, so i expect both languages to merge in a few millénaires :p)

@confusomu @whitequark Well, we have vey good reasons to hate the British more. They ransacked and pillaged the French country side during the Hundred Years’ War. (While Great Britain was left untouched).
@confusomu @whitequark Also, Mers-El-Kébir for more recent history.
@whitequark the special arrangement:
@whitequark "taken is English" I've seen better worded pub quizzes, and going to a pub quiz might be a better citizenship test. Politicians should be banned from making laws...
