Damn, my wife has noticed that my version of "No Mow May" tends to start in early April. Have been cutting (most of) front "lawn", prior to her sister's kids expecting to play ball games on it next week.

She has also realised my "May" ends in what some boring short-lawn obsessives call "August" or "September". Who knew?!

At least the grass is now part of the compost, where grass snakes have bred these last several years. Mysteriously some flowers escaped the lethal death-machine. Perhaps I'm just a poor driver? Although the Ragwort has it's own safety barrier! 😉

@ArborealTechie can we rename it "May not mow" month? But here in the southern hemisphere it's probably better placed in September or October which has less opportunity for alliteration
@bencourtice I love it!👍 Perhaps you could have No Scythe September instead? Abstain (from cutting) August?🤔 Might need some work on that one.
@ArborealTechie No Slash September is more contemporary (I own a scythe, few others do though)
@bencourtice Good thinking! Fair point re scythes. I may be atypical in this regard, as I have three Austrian scythes, plus multiple blades and peening equipment. I sometimes think that my kids might prefer it if I were atypical in fewer ways!
