Is it just me, or do all of the #StarTrekDS9 alien languages look like an absolute pain to hand-write?

Cardassian https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Cardassian_language needs a pen with variable stroke width.

Bajoran https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Bajoran_language consists of highly complex pictogram-like glyphs.

Ferengi https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Ferengi_language requires variable stroke thickness again, and also requires you to draw flowchart-like lines.

Dominionese https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Dominionese has large filled shapes.

Cardassian language

The Cardassian language was the spoken and written language of the Cardassians used on Cardassia Prime. Cardassian writing was composed of slender rectangular letters usually widening at the top. Lines of text were written both horizontally and vertically, radiating out from an elaborate circle motif. Lines of text also incorporated dots. (TNG: "Chain Of Command, Part II"; DS9: "Tribunal", "Things Past") By 2259, Starfleet officer Nyota Uhura was familiar with the Cardassian language. She...

Trill https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Trill_language is relatively sane in that glyphs are one or two strokes with a fixed-width pen, but the glyphs are usually seen on top of triangular background shapes for some reason. I'm guessing that's just a style and they can still read their language even without that, since obviously that would make handwriting on a uniform surface like paper impossible.
Trill language

The Trill language was the spoken language of the Trill. When performing the zhian'tara ceremony, a Guardian says a special ritual over a vat of symbiont mud, to transfer the telepathic presence of a previous host. (DS9: "Facets") Ezri Dax recited a similar ritual individually to commune with Joran. (DS9: "Field of Fire") The Trill written language is composed of rounded-triangles with squiggly lines in them. Miles O'Brien was able to read payroll records in the Trill written language. (DS9...

The Borg https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Borg_language have a written language, surprisingly enough. I would think such a thing unnecessary, given that their minds are all linked. But their language is…more like a diagram than a glyph-based language like we are familiar with, which I guess makes sense for a race who all have computers in their heads.

Borg language

The Borg language was the language used by Borg drones and the Borg Collective, written in alphanumeric code. The code consisted of circular symbols with geometric shapes cut out of them. These symbols could be seen on various control panels, labels, and viewscreens within Borg structures. It was written in horizontal lines going from left to right and right to left, and vertically. (TNG: "Q Who", et al.) During Seven of Nine's integration into the crew of the USS Voyager, she still...

Moving to other #StarTrek shows, namely #StarTrekEnterprise, Denobulan script https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Denobulan_language consists mostly of dots! This looks more like an alien equivalent of a QR code than a language meant to be written by humanoid hands. Fascinating.

Denobulan language

Denobulan was the language spoken by the Denobulans of Denobula. Doctor Phlox told Feezal that Hoshi Sato was like a "language wizard", and Sato and Feezal had a brief conversation in Denobulan. (ENT: "Stigma") The Denobulan written language consisted of lines of connected and disconnected filled-in circles. (ENT: "Stigma", "The Augments") Dr. Phlox's neutron microscope had Denobulan controls. (ENT: "Stigma", "The Xindi") In 2153, Charles "Trip" Tucker and Malcolm Reed discovered a carrying...

Memory Alpha
Klingonese https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Klingonese seems sane. Looks like it's best written with a calligraphic pen too, like most of the other non-human scripts, but these glyphs ought to still be fairly legible if written with a fixed-width pen.
Klingonese

Klingonese (also known more commonly as "Klingon") was the language used by the Klingon species and throughout the Klingon Empire. It was boasted that half the quadrant was learning the language by the mid-23rd century. (TOS: "The Trouble with Tribbles") The Klingon language contained eighty poly-guttural dialects constructed on an adaptive syntax. The first Human to become fluent in it was Hoshi Sato in 2151, who learned from a linguistic database provided by the Vulcans. (ENT: "Broken...

The Iconian script https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Iconian_language is relatively straightforward. Quite a few strokes per glyph, but at least you don't need a variable-width pen.
Iconian language

The Iconian language was the language used by the extinct Iconian race. Archaeologists speculated that three later languages, Dewan, Dinasian, and Iccobar, were derived from the ancient Iconian language due to certain shared similarities. If so, this would suggest that some Iconians were able to survive the orbital bombardment of Iconia. The hypothesis was confirmed in 2365 with the discovery of Iconia and Iconian script by the Federation. Lieutenant Commander Data derived a rudimentary...
