I bloody love #Bitwig but i am seriously considering mastering in #Reaper. Just to make things more complicated for myself.
@emsquared i started doing this. i think if you dont do much mastering and especially dont do album mastering the switching back and forth is probably not worth it? its not like bitwig cant do everything reaper can do if you know how to, the only advantage to reaper is speed and ease. which only really start paying off if you do it a lot. bc ofc switching daws will slow you down as such
@emsquared i mean if youre just kind of bored/want to procrastinate and want to learn a new daw thats a valid reason ofc lol. just good to be honest with yourself about what exactly is going on there hahaha
@emsquared one unexpected upside to switching daws for mastering is that it kind of shifts your perspective and lets you see your mix in a new light tho
@emsquared if you do end up tryign to use reaper, make sure you enable autosave. reaper crashes quite a bit more than bitwig and it does NOT do crash recovery like bitwig does. i learned this the hard way ^^
@tildesounds Ah thanks for the tip.
@tildesounds Sounds right but yes I'm intrigued to see what using Reaper for a few tunes turns out like as a mastering option.
