It seems like Americans all think all #MedievalStoreNames began with "Ye Olde". 🤔

It's a running trope here, not mere ignorance

When I was a kid, it was even more overused, lots of businesses actually named that way

We're making fun of ourselves really

@JeremyMallin It’s a real life joke, there’s actual businesses named “ye olde,” and they are usually anything but old.

But then how many (of everyone) know that "ye" is pronounced "the"?

So they're just saying "the old".

The Baker
The Cobbler
etc...
No competitors.🤷
