I haven‘t progressed far with my grapheneOS phone.

Is there a group for like minded users here? I follow grapheneOS but the account doesn’t seem focused on actually figuring out cool things regarding the phone.

For instance, how is the PlayStore mirror provided on the phone different from a non-mirror? I’m not technical and simply would like to find apps in a non-Google way.

Still looking for a music app …

@D5V3 I think the difference is in how the OS treats it. Play Services doesn't get special system privs like it does on regular Android. Plus it's also optional... it's common to create a "private space" with Play and leave it out of the main space, and use Aurora Store for any Play Store apps in the main profile.
@D5V3 first stop for privacy respecting apps is f-droid. If you are searching for music from the internet, RiPlay or Kreate are a good choice

@D5V3 There is also an app called Obtainium if you want to direct download from developer repos, and of course F-Droid, which is a great place to start. Don't have to install Google Play. And if you do you can decide to delete it later.

GrapheneOS is very flexible. So you can change your strategy as your needs change.

What kind of music app are you looking for? YouTube music streaming, local on device playing?
