Happy Trans Day of Visibility! Lesser known things about transness:

- you do not have to experience dysphoria to be trans
- you do not need to "know" that you are trans your entire life
- you do not need to change your body or presentation in any way to be trans
- transfeminine people on hormones grow breasts (among many other feminizing changes)
- transmasculine people on hormones grow facial hair (among many other masculinizing changes)
- transness is different from sexuality; just like anyone else, trans people can have any kind of sexuality
- there is so much joy in transitioning and being yourself
- there is no particular look or way of being as a trans person. Sometimes online discourse flattens and narrows the apparent
trans experience to stereotypes.
- it is never too late to transition!!

Pic: me! A trans woman that transitioned at the age of 35

@internet_ginger

all these are fine remarks, you're right to shed light on them.

on the last one: there's no age:
i know a trans woman in her sixties who started transitioning at 57;
just as i know a trans boy who spoke out and began transitioning at 14, but knew it (first year(s) in awe and "that will go" but it didn't) since his 6-7 years of age..

@bituur_esztreym @internet_ginger pretty much all the trans folks im super close w started transitioning later in life (like 30-40+). lots of babyqueers i hear often have the stance that smth irrevocably changes abt urself that devalues late blooming (often in terms of passing via white beauty standards), which massively undervalues these ppls lived exps, and is simply untrue. like u say, there rlly isnt an age to transition by; trans folks r stunning regardless ✨
