But they'd oft escape the yard only to be found blocks away, crossing at a crosswalk.
When the human, who has been walking up the middle-line of a residential street trying to spot them, would call them, they'd look at said human sideways while continuing to trot across to the opposite corner, then walk the sidewalk in human's direction, all the while with an expression on their face that could only be read as "What the fuck are you doing in the middle of the street, two-leg?"
