Today is Trans Day of Visibility. In a time when more and more trans people are being pushed into invisibility for safety, especially in light of the UK's Supreme Court ruling, as we see more attacks to push us out of fully participating in society, whilst at the same time too few trans voices are actually present in the rooms making those decisions. We need to reclaim our visibility, and the safety to be visible. I'm going to continue to do my part (as deputy leader of the opposition here in Manchester) and resist those who want to see me disappear.
@laser I've had trans friends for 43 of my 60 years. I consider myself a staunch ally of that community. It's the hill I'm willing to die on.
@laser Sadly, things are about as bad in the U.S. But many of us in both countries stand with you.
@laser ❤️I stand with you, Chris.
