How often does a YouTuber ask their audience "should I do more of X" and the answers come back "nah"? It feels like they're just fishing for compliments.

@ill_logic yes, there's always going to be an audience. I assume the point is to gauge *how big* the response to different topics is rather than *whether* there is affirmation

@ill_logic it probably helps that comments are engagement = algorithm happy = your video being pushed more

Some cynicism is certainly warranted with these incentives ^^
