And brewday's here.

The beauty of my youngest having spring break is that I don't have to go anywhere this morning - I can start nice and early on getting things done with a batch of vienna lager.

I mean, assuming everything goes to plan, which... well, let's be fair...

Trying out a few new things process-wise while I'm brewing today, and we'll see how it helps the final product.

A suggestion to let the mash sit for 10 minutes before turning on recirc definitely seems to have made it easier - I don't feel like my Brewzilla sucked all the grain down hard to the bottom of the basket. It also made it easier to collect wort for checking the pH, though now I'm worried about my meter... (first world problems, yeah).

And the latest beta of Brewfather has this great LiveActivity on my iPhone so I can see real quick where the process is time-wise while mashing/boiling without unlocking the phone.

I'm about 2 1/2 hours in at this point, so it's at least going at a good clip?

OOOOOo. Even better - the LiveActivity countdown shows up on my watch too. Convenient for when I walk out and leave my phone on my desk.

4 hours from start of brewing to wort in bucket.

Yeast is pitched, hydrometer is in the bucket, and off we go!
