Putting out a call to Star Trek fans here on Mastodon. Does anyone have an extra 2022 Hallmark Star Trek Replicator mug they're willing to part with? I'll pay for it and shipping. Our cat destroyed mine tonight and it was my favorite mug and my ritual to drink from it when watching Trek.

Sadly that's a scam site. Their about me page says they sell men's fashion out of the UK and their Contact Us page address provides a wholly fake address.

@temptoetiam Its okay, it seems like Hallmark has this issue with ai copycat sites. I ran into a few last night and then have gotten 3-4 new ones today recommended. Always the same site template, but when you look up their Contact Us address it's just AI generated bs

@kDelta Sadly that's a pretty obvious scam site. Their address listed is wholly fake.

@lockelyfox I actually did wonder and did try to check. I used to work for a designer label and we had those issues a lot. companyiworkedfor-deals.com etc.. and people would always call us asking where their order were or why the item seemed fake. 😞

@kDelta Yeah I did my own search and had to vet a few of these before I posted the call for aid. It seems like Hallmark has this issue pretty significantly.

@Deathcat2508 sadly that site and the hallmark-mall site both appear to be scams. Check their addresses on their Contact Us pages. Neither are real addresses.

There are glues for earthenware. In pre-chemistry times, we glued broken cups with milk (it takes oh time, but caseine works well for years and poses no health danger)

@ohir It sadly split directly in the middle of the color changing text and that ended up shattering flakes off. It's not repairable in any way that would maintain it's original look and feel.

Maybe it's been suggested, but maybe someone with a 3d printer could replicate that & ship it to you.

3D Printing isn't great for drinkware because it prints in layers and you can end up getting moisture between the layers which turns into bacteria and mold.

@lockelyfox looks like kintsugi time to me! Not sure what to use in place of gold, but this is legitimately the perfect case, repairing ceramics that you can't replace.

A friend of mine bought me a set of these back in like 2018 and, kid you not, the bottom straight up detached from two separate cups pouring hot tea into them.

@lockelyfox holy shit. I think they may have cracked (😅) the build quality since then, but that’s wild. Boiling water is no joke!!
