Woke up to no coffee in the house. Will pick up more from a shop that sells coffee grown nearby, but first cup of morning needed a fix. Luckily my home grown coffee is ripe and beans from one of the plants are already drying. Roasted some, crushed using mortar and pestel (oh the fragrance while pounding the roasted seeds!) and finally now sitting with a cup that is making me very happy :)

Coffee, lemons and peaches! What a bounty! Goofy dog is πŸ˜‚

@TheEddieShow yes! shit's good for now :D
@hiway didn’t know you can grow coffee at home! does it want some specific climate or environment?
@lina the variety I have (robusta) grows into large bushes under canopy of trees, but I'm sure it or some other variety will be amenable to grow in urban settings. My four plants outdoors are not enough to sustain my caffeine habit 😬 will be planting most of the seeds from current harvest to ensure I can have my coffee scene sorted. The plants can't handle frost, but want cool climate.
@hiway I didn't know it was possible to get from bush to cup in the morning! Amazing. Happy coffee time. 😍
@alex I had started processing the cherries a few days ago, never tried bush to cup in one go.

@hiway

Thank you, Harshad. You seem to live in paradise. Thank you for sharing such a neat experience.

@johnb48 there are glimpses of paradise, but then there's also the reality of others burning forests for slash-n-burn agriculture or spite against wildlife. I take refuge in my little garden :D
@hiway damn that's amazing :0
@jmaris I still find myself surprised that i'm living this life now X-)
@hiway only a glass of water all I need in the morning πŸ˜…
@GOKUSHRM nice, I need my blood:caffeine ratio restored
@hiway This is absolutely fabulous! What a great backup for those oops days! You've inspired me to try and find a variety that I can grow in my sunroom as it gets way too cold here for outdoor growing.
Used to have a lemon tree when we lived in Spain decades ago, such a wonderful fragrance. Miss that ol tree. Thanks for sharing your space with us πŸ’š
@BsCreativeLife yay! do try, even though you'll probably need a lot more plants for enough coffee, but as a reward/backup it's worth it! I'm loving the flavour of mine grown with tamarillos - is robusta but not bitter, has a fruity note.
@hiway Good day to you world neighbor. We have fermented onions to trade. And chickpea miso. #coffee, #growyourown, #minnesota, #zone4b
@Pollinators i like the sound of both! :D all we need is TelePort/IP protocol and we're set!
@hiway Oh what could have been possible with generations of focus.
@hiway Makes me happy just hearing about it. You are clearly leading a good life.
@hiway wow!
@caffetino yup, delicious, slightly fruity note and strong :D

@hiway @johnb48

I’m still trying to process that first sentence… can’t even imagine letting that happen!

(I’ve probably got a 3 month supply since two of my most favorite coffees were being discontinued by the roaster(s) and I bought 5 lbs of each in addition to my normal amount of their other offerings)
