@jeffzugale If I may, Perhaps some scrap acrylic then painted on the backside and used for these creations. Etch sections and paint those so the paint bonds well and does not stick up higher than the plane.
To me, these are starting to look like some alien astrolabe and that's damn cool.
@retech indeed, worth a try! My diode laser doesn’t work on clear acrylic though I might be able to use black tempera paint to engrave. Can definitely use black acrylic.
