Here's another of these geometric doodles. This one has a bit of rotational symmetry to it. I don't approach these with any goal other than to experiment with what feels like the next move. I mess up. I erase. I try again. There's a sort of architectural meditation in it.

Rectangle Regions

Made this in Processing using a frame buffer where each point was made to be part of any number of rectangles, and the color of an intersecting region is obtained by adding up the colors of the component rectangles and performing a modulus operation.

"Jae Zander Kitinoja is a freelance illustrator, experimental animator, and public artist.
He was raised in Woodland, CA, where his interest in public art began with volunteer projects. He designed and painted his first mural at Freeman Elementary when he was sixteen years old, and then went on to paint murals in every other school he attended. At age eighteen, he and his twin sister moved to Southern California and began studying at Cal State Northridge, and in May 2016, he graduated with a BA in Art, concentration in animation. Today. Jae hopes to make a career in public art as well as in animated short films or television."

Polar Fractal

Made by mapping an image to polar coordinates several times, meaning this image is the composition of about 20 or so rectangular-to-polar coordinate mappings. It has resulted in a very complex design.
