@blogdiva twenty years ago, a friend was in army basic and — I think it was actually an ICE agent — came onto the base to arrest a guy just back from the sandbox.

Friend disarmed the agent and had him at gunpoint. Explained that he’s from LA and some of his best friends were Mexicans.

The actual soldier on watch said if he moved, shoot him. Base got put on lockdown.

I think some phone calls were made and it resolved without bloodshed or the soldier being taken by ICE.

@blogdiva This is stunningly cruel, but also, if you blind yourself to that for a moment, the normies will only wake up if the fascists move too quickly. One of the big uncertainties of this administration has been which way the armed forces would break it it comes down to it. That, ultimately, will decide whether or not we can wrest democracy back from darkness. For ICE to provoke Marines like this is the sort of blunder that, although awful, we should pray for more of.
