Oh.
No.
There goes a decent career… everything Rowling touches goes rotten.

You’re wrong John, “job security” over transphobia is a brutal look.

John Lithgow Says J.K. Rowling’s Trans Views Have Been “Twisted and Misrepresented”

The actor also said he was very attracted to the “job security” of playing Dumbledore.

Them.

@chris He also justifies it with " In February, Lithgow told an audience at the Rotterdam Film Festival that Potter was a “mediation of kindness and acceptance,” and though he found her views “ironic and inexplicable,” he saw “no trace of transphobic sensitivity” in the series itself."

He doesn't seem to understand that she takes this money she makes to support anti-trans bills and behaviour.

The thing is, ratings are going to be the final judge. Will enough people watch to make it a hit?

@CStamp I think it’s going to tank and everyone associated with may very well go down the bowl with it!
@chris I hope so, but it's a big brand. They have also just redone the audiobooks with a full cast, and I've seen some of those children being interviewed, and, again, they are so excited to be part of the Potter world.

@chris There will sincerely be those who don't know about the controversy. I had no idea until a few years ago, because I don't follow entertainment reporting as a general rule. Someone mentioned something about her in a social media post that made me scratch my head then look into it more. She just seems to be doubling down as time goes on.

I feel sorry for those kids, who are so excited to play these roles. But the adults? They are making a choice.

@CStamp exactly.
My daughter grew up loving the books and movies. Then she became a young adult, Rowling went full transphobe, and my daughter and most of her generation dropped her like a rock.

I am sad for those kids too. They could end up really hurt and it all goes back to Rowling.

@chris And their parents. Who are more thrilled with their kids and a paycheque than anything else. :(

@chris

It's his last role; he doesn't care.

Ignoring Rowling's scumminess, the show itself looks like it's going to be a bloody awful mess, especially after the movies.

@chris not super surprised honestly.
