And that's odd because it has a gas strut that holds the hood. This isn't even like a caryover from a previous model. This is a 2018 Atlas and 2018 was the first model year for the Atlas
@chilort only the *finest* in German precision and attention to detail. No doubt that's the result of copy-pasting the upper radiator support frame from another model.
@rootwyrm but what model? I wondered the same thing but they make nothing else in this size. Since they don't make anything else this big. My only other thinking was that maybe there was some international requirement for a hood prop. But this is mostly an American market vehicle (at least it was in 2018)
@chilort that's exactly what I'm saying. They copy-pasted half of the radiator support probably from a Jetta or whatever and didn't bother to delete the prop rod clip when modifying it for the Atlas. There is literally no version of the Atlas that uses a prop rod and it's not required in any jurisdiction.
