Playing with Windows Neptune (1999) today, I remember installing this all those years ago, when the MS Alpha/Beta scene was flying on IRC. How has it nearly been 30 years!?
@dfx it was supposed to be the first home user orientated Windows based on NT, a bit of an interesting one really, I'd have a read here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Neptune Also worth installing and having a mess too:
@Gammitin Interesting, thanks! Back in the day, we downloaded and installed so many versions of Windows Whistler, the codename for XP. Even as a beta, It was so much better for gaming than Windows 2000.
@Gammitin@dfx I wish there were more publicly dumped early post reset builds, I want to see the progress from reset to 5048 more, especially around the point when componentisation was initially brought into the post-reset codebase.
