This is an interesting moral dilemma.
I don't use #BigTech services and I've never used an #Anthropic #LLM so far, neither those you pay with your code, nor those you pay with your code AND your money.
Even if you don't pay with money and you don't care about your code, using their tools boil down the ocean so you should feed ashamed.
For this same reason I would never take their money either much like I would never use Google Ads on my websites: I feel them disgusting and their money toxic, polluting everything they touch (#GSoC included)
BUT if taking their money might hurt them enough to make them go bankrupt, I'd totally do that. I might donate those tainted money to a noprofit or even better burn them in public, but for the pleasure of demaging #Anthropic.

On the other hand, I'm afraid that taking their money somewhat legitimize their business model, cause once the authors get payed they are free to do whatever they want with their works, while I don't want them to use anything I wrote ever.
So the moral dilemna is: what hurts #Anthropic more? Getting their money or not?

Ekaitz Zarraga 👹@giacomo @alcinnz @mwl I think a lot about this because making them pay is just like you are agreeing with the transaction. They should be forced to re-train the models without the content, if you don't want them to use your content. If they don't they are basically not buying anything from you, they are just paying you for damages, but nothing else.
Nothing to be happy about in any case. It would mean the company can just come, steal and they throw some arbitrary amount of money to your face.

@giacomo @alcinnz @mwl Some other will come, with more money, and buy the remains. I don't think we can outsmart capitalists in the money game. They play with the big numbers.
I think we need to approach this in a different way. Idk.
It's not the kind of conversation I want to have, because it saddens me.
