โ˜๏ธNote: Emails are only truly confidential when sent with end-to-end encryption.

Setting up E2E encryption in #MicrosoftOutlook is possible, but it's a BIG hassle & it's only for paid plans. ๐Ÿšฉ

Luckily, there are providers like Tuta Mail that end-to-end encrypt the whole message including the subject line... by default. ๐Ÿ”

@Tutanota even if none of the above matters to you, fact of the matter remains that Outlook just sucks. I had to use it in university as we were given outlook emails, and it's easily the worst email provider I've ever used
@reiddragon @Tutanota outlook starts becoming somewhat bearable with external mail clients (k9, thunderbird). Otherwise I completely agree.
@Adrian @Tutanota even with external clients like Thunderbird, it's still significantly worse than anything else around

Don't get me wrong, the official Outlook clients are absolutely horrible, but taking them out of the picture doesn't change the net sum of the experience using Outlook

@Tutanota I think you need to be more specific here, otherwise it's misleading.

Tuta mails are only end to end encrypted when the message is sent between Tuta mailboxes, otherwise it's unencrypted (just like regular email).

Correct me if I'm wrong though.

@hmiron @Tutanota True. Emails aren't encrypted. The exception with emails providers sending mails to themselves and usage of PGP keys and such are sort of rare and niche. Marketing emails as E2E and such are shady and I would consider it false marketing, and would give some users a false sence of privacy and security, which could cause damage. They should rather educate users about the flawed design of emails and maybe the usage of PGP and such. Emails aren't going a away anytime soon.
