@pussreboots agender and looking for more mystery recommendations, I lost track about ten years ago when I lost access to a consistent library to lend things from...
@len Cool. What sort of mysteries did you enjoy? I can recommend some.
@pussreboots Cadfael, Fidelma, all the Agatha Christies, Dorothy Sayers, Father Brown, this one series about a woman detective in Australia in I guess the 40s or so that was just on its second book when I lost library access, Ladies' No. 1 Detective Agency...

Honestly I'll go in for just about anything! Books more than series or movies, for speed's sake, but I like both.
@len @pussreboots Someone named Melville did a series in the ‘80s or ‘90s about a Japanese cop, who I think was named Inspector Otani. There was, in addition to the mystery stuff, some interesting cultural parts. No idea how they hold up now, but it makes me want to dig through the boxes and re-read them to see. I quite enjoyed them at the time (probably late ‘90s).
@JamesK @len @pussreboots was that the Superintendent Tetsuo Otani series by James Melville!! Thanks for the reminder! I read a couple of those years ago and will put them on my TBR list.
@econoprof @len @pussreboots That sounds right. It’s been quite a while since I’ve thought about it, and as we can tell, I’ve put no effort into any research.;)
