I've been waiting for Auracast to become a thing for a while now. I really hope it will eventually become available at chaos/hacker events (#CCC, #EMF, etc) because these lecture halls often have a lot of ambient noise that I find hard to filter out. Being able to just put on headphones and listen to the audio directly from the microphone would really help.

@ayke it seems to suffer from similar interference issues as AM radio while also not having the range ....

I wonder why they went this way instead of just going AM radio, after all it's not that much more complex to build an AM transmitter and reciever.

just use low power AM transmitter...
they really don't need to re-solve this problem with a worse piece of technology.
