Compelled by the mystic powers of ADHD, I made lists of what stories, planets, aliens, and ships are part of my personal #StarWars headcanon.
And even restricting myself to only works before 1999 and throwing out huge numbers of generic space ports only appearing in one scene, I still end up with 94 planets. Which is pretty insane.

Also insane is how I could talk several minutes about most of them, or at least tell you which species lives there.
And I know a lot of prequel planets as well. 😧

Star Wars is exceptionally big and one of my favorite series of fiction. But there are several others for which I also know hundreds of locations and characters that I will instantly recognize by name.

It's fascinating how much stupid made-up shit the human brain can store.

I also find it very interesting to realize that the entire post-Emperor, New Republic Expanded Universe was mostly published over the span of only five years.

1991 started the EU with the first Thrawn book and the Dark Empire comic.
When the third Thrawn book came out in 1993, The Truce at Bakura and the X-Wing game were already arriving and then it went overdrive from 1994 to 1998.
1999 had four more X-Wing novels, and that was it.

All Prequels and NJO from there.😐

The videogames are mostly set during the movies or right after. In contrast, the books and comics are mostly set in just the 8 years after the death of the Emperor. There's 9 more books set in the following 7 years after that, but I found them very forgettable.

I had thought I was getting a bit bored with Star Wars in 1999 and just spending more time with PC games.
But that classic Star Wars EU actually did wrap up at just that point.

Basically the scope of a TV show you read.
