Made some painting progress yesterday, mostly on the Vindictor-Prime model where I tried a new approach to my years-long occasional quest to create a good ever-so-slightly-metallic/pearl off-white armour effect.
This one's showing promise, though I added the metallic too early as a test and since went back over with flat shade and highlight layers. I'll do another pass with the metallic next to bring back the slight sheen.

The batch-painting plan hasn’t quite gone to… well, plan. My ‘test’ model has turned into just plain ol’ painting the whole miniature, but I’ve tried a couple of new things and it’s coming along quite nicely.
I’ve made notes so I’m still telling myself I’ll follow through and batch paint the rest.
I tried stronger directional lighting, with a purple hue to the shadows and it’s working OK for a first attempt at this style. Getting there.
Batch painting is back on.
I made good progress on the first model, which is nearly done now, so have started to build up basic layers on the other five.

And a little more progress last night...
The armour is nearly done; needs the final light metallic effect adding. I've started on some of the heads and weapons, and done a rough black rim to the bases to get a feel for overall colour balance (also it looks nicer, which encourages me that I'm making some progress).
Still slowly working through the Gladitorium Primes. Made a tiny bit more progress last night, including getting a first pass of the lightning effect on the Annihilator-Prime and a start on the face of the Vigilor-Prime, so they all have faces now. Which is good.
OK, I've hit that point where I'm calling 'good enough for now'.
Still some obvious details needed (I've done a poor job on the eyes on all but the Vindictor for example) but I think I need a little break from these now and they're certainly tabletop ready.
