Is the Vauxhall ampera a plugin hybrid based on the Chevy Volt platform? There are some strong similarities.

@neverbeaten it's just the right hand drive version of the original Chevy volt - just with different badges. Id assumed they were near identical otherwise. Didn't sell that many over here I seem to recall

The front (especially the headlights) are dramatically different. The side mirrors share a lot of distinctive similarities, as well as the overall shape, which makes sense.

The less popular variant sold in North America was the Cadillac ELR. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadillac_ELR

We have a gen2 Volt, which is similar in concept, but with a bigger battery, faster charging (still very slow), and a longer, more aerodynamic profile.
