@MatWright do you understand what this has to do with people interested (or not) in coming, though? These were rooms booked by FIFA for their own staff, who have decided not to come?

I've seen a few articles but they don't explain it

@giflian a lot of the inventory they are off loading are high end packages which include hotel suites, and good stadium seats - people simply are not buying them

@MatWright so FIFA was acting as a reseller but has dumped inventory? That's fun

@giflian literally shedding money on this - they pre-book high end rooms, restaurants, stadium suites and seats and in previous WCs have made a killing - this time, dumping like mad - and I love it - in panic mode 3 months out

@MatWright I wonder how much of this is because of the announcement about ICE being at all the games, even in Canada. Though maybe only a contributing factor

@giflian combination of anti-FIFA, anti-US, Iran war disrupting airlines, visas and frankly major corporate groups dropping out because they no longer want to be associated with the brand
