20 tons of tofu
rotting in the creek
Smells so awful
It really does reek

Semi full of tofu
Went off the edge
Now it's rotting
Behind a hedge

Stuck down there
in Tater Hollow
Been there for weeks
I don't follow

They don't eat
much tofu there
Down in Missouri
I do swear

Don't ask me
I can't tell you
Why Missouri doesn't
pay for a clean up crew

A tofu truck crashed in Missouri. Weeks later, the rotting smell is stinking up the town

Local authorities say no one was hurt in the Phelps County crash, but the scene at the 172-mile marker is still there. One local resident said online that the rotting tofu left behind smells similar to catfish bait.

@ai6yr ouch. i mean companies not wanting to clean up their crashed trucks is definitely a thing that happens anyway, because it's costly to deal with freight removal. in a lot of cases it requires the truck to be towed/righted first, and sometimes smaller carriers have to raise the money to deal with the wrecker fee because they don't have enough available credit or good enough credit to front it.

i hope the management of the trucking company have to personally experience the smell of rotting tofu at some point though. i can't imagine it smells pleasant.
