This made me have a connection in my mind:
Hypothesis: some people never actually hear the lyrics. song is like just an instrument. It feels like this explains at least some of the people who listened to Tupac and RATM and still grew to be bigots.

Maybe he thought the band's name "Relinquish All to The Machine"?

@lerxst @Gurre @ErickaSimone I had politically conservative friends in high school who loved RATM. I didn’t get it in 1993 and I don’t get it now.
