@AtanasE the images might be served by a server very far away from you and many paople might want to access them at the same time as you. The mastodon instance might be subscribed to a low-budget server because too few people are willing to pay the instance host a dime to finance the operation. Big Tech has taught us otherwise, but this is actually normal behavior, until we more broadly participate in keeping the maintainers over water.
