Sorry, protestors, I know you mean well. But your problem isn't the nutcase in chief. It's his 77 million idiot voters. It's the fact that your one viable "progressive" option, the Democratic Party, is virulently right-wing on a European scale. Your country is simply fucked, and it's a major problem for the whole world.

@mrundkvist

I know you're actually a lovely person, but if you think we're not aware of the 77 million fuck-heads, and haven't been trying to find ways to make the US a better country while swimming against them for decades then you have no idea of American politics.

If all you can come up with is "your country is simply fucked", ask yourself if you're helping or hurting those who are trying to improve things.

#nokings

@mrundkvist It's a problem.
Trump is awful, but not the source of all evil.
Even if they get rid of Trump, back to normal even a democrat is terrible to most in the US and worse to almost all outside.

@dacig @mrundkvist

Are you helping or hurting those who are trying to make things better?

I can understand if you're doing an analysis of how your country ought to be treating the US, esp with Trump 2.0, but if you post on the #nokings hashtag you are talking to the people hoping to fix things.

@mrundkvist or the problem is the people who pay trump to do their dirty work and invested tons of thousand dollars in brainwashing people who were primed for it

@mrundkvist Um, no. You're just plain wrong about that "simply fucked" thing. (The rest is accurate.)

These protests are a legitimate and useful part of the fight against US fascism. I know I feel a renewed sense of purpose when I see literal millions of my fellow antifascists out there representing. We are here, and we are fighting back.

If you don't think we're fighting hard enough, just wait; looking at Europe today, I figure you'll get your chance to show us how it's done soon enough.

@mrundkvist We hear you, and we understand. Most of us don’t disagree with your statement. Do know though, in addition to demonstrating, many of us are getting involved at all levels of American government, from the local to the federal level.

If you want to change something like the corporatist political machines of both the right and the left that’s been entrenched for the last 50 years, you have to root out the rot from the inside out. This unfortunately takes time. But we’re going as fast as we can. Just know it’s not always visible.

@mrundkvist The purpose of the rallies was to remind us that depressing thoughts like these can’t defeat us if we get up and do something.

@mrundkvist

You're not wrong

For those of us who absolutely cannot physically leave, what do you recommend?

@NilaJones
Move to a solidly Democrat state and advocate for secession.

@mrundkvist

You might want to research that one a bit more 😂
