Sound on videos is pretty bad at concerts.

When I record with my Android phone (fairphone5) at really loud concert, the sound is most of the time really bad, distorted.

Any hints how to make it better?

Is there a (really small) usb microphone that helps for this stuff?

(I'm not filming complete concerts only 1-2 songs each band. I'm always in the corner to not disturb people, I don't like people with cams in the middle of a pit)

@joergi same for fp6. I read somewhere that it's a hardware issue. I think my next phone will not be a fairphone...
@ryan_harg
I really want to have a GrapheneOS one. And Fairphone is not compliant with GrapheneOS security requirement.
So i guess I will have a look how the next Motorola will be.
@joergi have you tried clip-on bluetooth mics? I find the quality/range of bluetooth mics is such guesswork ahead of time

@pomagarnet
I haven't.
I found that on on AliExpress, the 3rd one / usbc one

But I'm not familiar with the audio data, if that will help for concerts....

What kind of BT microphone can you recommend?

aliexpress.

@joergi I have no idea sorry, but I'm sure content creator type people have made videos about it. the only one I've seen (in videos) was a DJI clip on mic. it had a fuzzy puff to block wind noise.

good luck!

@joergi I know it’s not an option for you, I’m just saying it to make clear, the technology exists. The iPhone recognises when the sound is too loud and automatically reduces the input gain. The sound is always great.
Most mid-price BT Mics do the same.
Another option: there are handheld recording devices especially for live music. Most of them have a camera too, but they put the focus on sound.
@strang_out
Extra cam is too much effort. I will need to have a look into noise reduction filtering.
Or BT microphones. What i just fear, that it's with a BT microphone not in sync, but I guess nowadays that shouldn't be a problem at all
