Still half dark as I set off for my Sunday walk to the markets. This time next week we're back to normal!
Been to neighbour day, lots of lovely neighbours and some great food. Then dropped himself at his concert venue (NGA) to meet the piano tuner. Now on a bus to Civic for the Palm Sunday refugee rally. Then home. Then back to the NGA for himself's concert. Sheesh, I'll need a day off tomorrow.
@sister_ratched Busy! But it sounds like a lovely day.
@LifeTimeCooking Yep, and perfect weather.
@sister_ratched It is gorgeous here today today.

@sister_ratched

We should take the British Columbia approach and just keep daylight savings time year round imo 🙂

Lady I walked past yesterday after an evening trip to the supermarket stopped me and said it will be dark this time next week 😕

@HardBeingGreen When you're retired it makes little difference, but I guess ppl with little kids get some benefits from both sides of DST.

@HardBeingGreen
Take the QLD approach 🤭
Keep standard time, but businesses start work an hour earlier than the southerners

@sister_ratched

@AnnonBudgie @HardBeingGreen Oh, didn't know that!
@sister_ratched
My southern relies complain bitterly when they come here... office style work usually starts at 8am
@HardBeingGreen

@AnnonBudgie @sister_ratched

8am 😮

Pass, I'm lucky to get to the office by 9.30am lol

I start at 8.30am when I work from home

@HardBeingGreen
We don't get anywhere near as much variety in daylight hours - closer to the equator
@sister_ratched
@AnnonBudgie @HardBeingGreen @sister_ratched WFH: I'm at my desk around 7 am in warmer weather but 8 am in the colder months. I'm a squib 😁
@cheryanne
When I WFH my start is somewhere between 6 & 7:30
My door to door commute is just over an hour... I leave my OOO on until 8am though & take the time as focus time
@HardBeingGreen @sister_ratched

@HardBeingGreen @sister_ratched @AnnonBudgie

Which is just the Clayton’s version of Daylight Savings Time.

@Kirsty
Except it is year round 🤷‍♀️

I for example can start work any time between 7am and 9am

The expectation is that I start at 8

When I worked in Sydney/Melbourne I could start between 8 and 9:30

@HardBeingGreen @sister_ratched

@sister_ratched got up ~0600, pitch black, so immediately petitioned govt for royal commission!
@MsDropbear42 @sister_ratched I woke at 5 am but chose to read in bed until a more civilised hour (for a Sunday). Just finished my second cup of tea and forced myself to get up and start on the laundry. Was not enthused to be honest.

@cheryanne

Right. I had to get up in the morning at ten o’clock at night, half an hour before I went to bed, eat a lump of cold poison, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill, and pay mill owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our Dad would kill us, and dance about on our graves singing “Hallelujah.”

@sister_ratched

@MsDropbear42 @cheryanne You missed licking road clean wit tongue.
@sister_ratched hey, i had to leave sumfink for my redoubtable interlocutors to do; can't have 'em feeling left out! @cheryanne
