@bbbhltz Great question - afaik he doesn't ever use that phrase, it's the interviewer who says "crappy identity politics," and Weir agrees that he's "on the same wavelength." Unclear whether he's fine with identity politics of the uncrappy variety.
The part I object to is the quote, "I never put any politics or messaging in any of my stories at all," which for me, denies the artist's responsibility to be aware of political subtexts and make a choice rather than, "<shrug> it's just a story."

I searched the captions. Weir does talk about "peak woke" at one point before he claims to not put politics in his stories because they are "purely to entertain."
