Hey, back in November I said I'd cover WHY Camp "tomorrow"

yeah that didn't happen.

Anyway. Here is a new thread for my coverage of WHY Camp!

Early morning, 8AM. Ready to head to London for the Eurostar and a long month away from home.
Arrival at the Eurostar terminal, who are these nerds??
Vegetarian Eurostar lunch, including quiche, lemonade and a chocolate mousse.
Arrival in Amsterdam, and now to change trains to head to camp.
fellow hackers spotted from the train station. now it is time to get a shuttle to the camp site.
Arrival! Freja had already settled in, we would be sharing a tent together again. Freja also brought with the haj vis friend to mark where our tent was.
checking out the welcome pack, with some nice little goodies.
The furry village brought with the sign they also used at CCCamp
Quite a selection of food trucks available, although due to limited budget I didn't end up having too much from them.
Checking out the arcade, there was a variety of Japanese import games available to play. Unfortunately the densha de go cabinet wasn't functioning at all during camp which was a shame. Other games included Groove Coaster, Panic Park, Pop'n, LoveLive
Some more pics from the arcade. Was good to see Wacca again. Also Taiko and Bishi Bashi
There was also 4 gamecubes set up, perfect for some multiplayer action.
Round the corner from the arcade was the sauna. I didn't end up using it this time as it was a little inconvenient to get to from where we were camping.
Can't have camp without world 'o techno. Just not the same!
Angel introduction talks, getting ready to do some volunteer work across the camp site.
Fab Lab. This was actually one of the locations I checked out at MCH but was a little too late to see anything going on. This time I was a little too early to catch what was going on, but I will return to this later on with Molive.
Also Fab Lab was on a boat. I forgot to mention that.
Fab Lab wasn't actually located on the camp site itself, you had to leave and follow a very long path to get to it.

Anderstorp was back again, with the very explicitly stated no accordian policy.

"Anderstorpsfestivalen tar aktivt avstånd mot dragspel och driver ett aktivt arbete mot dragspelsmusik i samhället. Dragspel har förstört många familjer och liv och det är därför vi stolt står mottot: "Våga vägra dragspel". Festivalen är en dragspelsfri festival."

A closer look at some of the stickers on world o' techno, so many different camps it has travelled to now!
I did some volunteering at C3WOC, cooking waffles for hungry campers.
some kind of art installation over by GratisShoarma village, at night it would look like fire torches.
And so began the first fog war of many to come. At first we thought it was just the weather at night but then after having a walk around we uncovered multiple villages abusing their smoke machines.
Much like MCH, there was a fully stocked grocery store in a tent. I wish all camping events had something like this because its so convenient!

the return of the data gnomes

"The Datenzwerg is a garden gnome with a mission: To collect environmental data and make it publicly available."

Nature is healing.
Home Computer Museum had some oldschool machines on display next to the arcade.
Gasman rocking out on stage
This was also the debut performance for Hacker Nature, a song Gasman covered specifically to perform at WHY Camp.
Reality taking photos with their modded gameboy camera rig.
This is what camp is about. A robot that flips pancakes for you.

Adyen was hosting the Rackathon challenge.

two teams compete to see who can plug in and patch network cables together the fastest.

A little modular synth that was set up by the EMF village
Volunteer food from the angel kitchen. If you work volunteer shifts you can claim free food to keep yourself going during camp.
Chilling out at the chaosfurs village, I decorated the tent with my raccoon plushies
Doing some camera operation work for Hacker Jeopardy.
Some more pics from the chaosfurs village, I set up some of my RGB lights for decoration and they did add to the cozy vibes quite a bit.
Some kind of modular synth shenanigans along with some projection mapping happening next door to the chaos furs village.
And then someone decided to plug a smoke machine into the tent and the entire tent was completely fogged up so absolutely nobody could see what was going on in there anymore.
This sure was an.. experience..
some light signage at night, WHY2025 in RGB and a cat!
Back in the arcade again, a Jaleco VJ machine had been set up. Also playing some TGM and Wacca.

Trying some of the food truck food, the bao buns weren't too expensive so I had a couple of them.
More volunteer camera op work, I think I could have done with a chair up there though because my legs weren't doing too great. It didn't help that I barely even needed to touch the camera since it was pretty much already looking at what it needed to be looking at.
Milliways brought with the jungle tent, which held many fun raves during the camp.
There was also a raccoon at Milliways, not entirely sure who did this but I liked it.
Cato's Algorithm machine, a reverse engineering challenge
Yologging, logging framework powered by ELASTIC
going on a bit of a stroll around the campsite
cheese tasting at the food hacking base
Field-FX hosting a little demoparty at the demoscene village
@travelracc heh i have a cameo in this one
